Zbigniew Brzezinski

Zbigniew Brzezinski served as national security advisor to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. During his tenure Brzezinski played a major role in normalizing U.S.-China relations and contributing to human rights and national security policies. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his work in 1981, and currently serves as a professor of American foreign policy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and as a counselor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
