Farooq Kathwari

Farooq Kathwari is chairman, president and CEO of the furniture manufacturing company Ethan Allen Interiors. After working on Wall Street, he launched a company as a supplier for Ethan Allen before Ethan Allen purchased it and eventually named him chairman. Inheriting sagging sales, he led the brands modernization and instituted a new pricing structure, changes that ultimately tripled sales at most stores. He serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and was also a member of President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Updated 2012
