Kelly Devine is the foundation’s principal director of content and dissemination, responsible for developing Carnegie’s institutional narrative and aligning strategic communications with brand, transparency, and impact goals. She drives the creation and dissemination of storytelling and messaging across platforms and leads a team dedicated to translating complex ideas into accessible, impactful content that has been recognized with multiple Webby, Telly, and Communicator Awards.
Prior to joining the foundation, she served as editorial director and director of editorial and content strategy at the Institute for Advanced Study, one of the world’s leading centers for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry.
Devine brings more than 20 years of editorial experience to the position: as senior writer of ARTnews and editor of the ARTnewsletter, a biweekly trade publication on the international art market; as a research associate editor for Reader’s Digest; and as a beat reporter and feature writer for a daily newspaper at the start of her career. Her articles for ARTnews were recognized with the Society of Silurians’ First Place Award for Arts and Culture reporting in the New York metropolitan area on three occasions.
Devine earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in political science at the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she was recognized with several awards, including a William Randolph Hearst Scholarship for in-depth writing and a Society of Professional Journalists award for best general reporting.
