Review of the National Research Council’s Framework for K-12 Science Education
Aug 24, 2015
The Thomas B. Fordham Institute today published a review of the National Research Council’s recently released Framework for K-12 Science Education. The report “finds much to praise in the Framework but also raises important concerns about a document that may significantly shape K-12 science education in the U.S. for years to come.” Read the Fordham report.
Representatives from 20 states are currently working to develop Next Generation Science Standards–and using as their starting point the National Research Council’s recently released Framework for K-12 Science Education. That process is being managed by Achieve, a non-partisan education non-profit.
The National Research Council’s framework was supported through a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York.
