The Great Immigrants, Great Americans Comic Series has won a 2026 Webby Award for best social video short form and a Webby People’s Voice Award, chosen by the voting public, for the best social content series. The Webby Award is an international recognition honoring excellence on the internet.

In the series, naturalized U.S. citizens tell their stories in their own words, highlighting the role that immigrants play in the country’s scientific advancement, cultural richness, and economic growth. Watch the award-winning videos featuring groundbreaking musician David Byrne, whistleblowing pediatrician Mona Hanna, and legendary DC illustrator and chief creative officer Jim Lee.

ABOUT THE SERIES: The Great Immigrants, Great Americans Comic Series is a public service initiative that uses animations and comics to highlight the exemplary contributions of immigrants to America. It is anchored by three original animations, a downloadable comic book, more than a dozen individual comics, and lesson plans. All materials are free to use, share, and republish. Each comic is paired with data from the American Immigration Council, providing facts about how immigrants contribute to America as artists, scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

The series was commissioned by Carnegie Corporation of New York, founded in 1911 by Scottish immigrant Andrew Carnegie, and produced by the award-winning creative studio Jongsma + O’Neill. Since 2006, Carnegie has honored more than 750 naturalized U.S. citizens through its annual Great Immigrants, Great Americans public awareness campaign.
