Sophie Haas-Goldberg

Program Assistant, International Program

Sophie Haas-Goldberg is a program assistant in the International Program. She reports to Randy Flay and assists with the development and implementation of the program’s grantmaking focused on peace and security issues.

Before joining Carnegie, Haas-Goldberg served as a program officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, where she managed grants totaling over $100 million in Ethiopia, Ukraine, and Venezuela. She also conducted research on financial services for women in post-conflict countries for the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Haas-Goldberg served as an intern at the International Crisis Group and wrote grants for International Bridges to Justice, helping individuals gain access to their legal rights in developing countries.

Haas-Goldberg holds an MA in international relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. She received a BA in international studies from Dickinson College. She speaks intermediate French.
