Description
Immigrants and refugees to the United States face significant structural barriers to successful resettlement and integration. This includes language and cultural barriers, challenges accessing education and services, and a complex and arcane residency status adjustment process. These challenges affect their abilities to get good jobs, earn a living wage, and integrate into their new communities in healthy and sustainable ways. Founded in 2011, USAHello (formerly, Refugee Center Online) produces and hosts accessible online resources for immigrants and refugees to help them build new lives in the United States and, recently, in Europe. USAHello offers multilingual information and tools on a wide range of topics, including means of accessing local and federal services, as well as an online classroom for educational advancement and preparation for citizenship. With Corporation support, USAHello will continue to improve its digital programs and educational offerings as it continues to expand its reach among refugees and immigrants.

Description
Newcomers to the United States face significant structural barriers to achieving successful resettlement and integration. Many immigrants and refugees are confronted with language and cultural barriers, problems accessing services and education, as well as difficulties with the naturalization process. These challenges affect their abilities to get good jobs, earn a living wage, and integrate into their communities in a meaningful and sustainable way. Founded in 2011, the Refugee Center Online provides innovative, cost-effective online resources designed to help refugees and immigrants build new lives in the United States. In 2018, the center reached more than one million people from every state, helping them to learn about the country’s systems of government and access information on American culture in their own native languages. With Corporation support, the center will continue to improve its web-based programming and other educational offerings, as it works to expand its reach among refugees and immigrants.

Description
As the refugee crisis worsens throughout the world, the United States should be a global leader, not only in assisting refugees and immigrants who are escaping desperate situations, but in preventing the further spread of conflict by supporting newcomer efforts to integrate into new communities. There have already been many examples around the world of what happens when immigrants are systematically marginalized and made vulnerable to the influences of extremism. The Refugee Center Online (RCO) offers innovative, cost-effective online resources to help refugees and immigrants integrate and build new lives in the United States. With Corporation support RCO will build its web-based programming, offering free online courses to learn English, prepare for citizenship, and study for a Graduate Equivalency Degree; find local service providers in their communities; learn American customs; and interact with other immigrants through online forums.
