Description

Since its founding in 2012, Springboard Collaborative has worked to close the literacy gap by bridging the divide between home and school.The organization coaches educators and families to support Pre-K to third-grade students in reaching grade-level reading proficiency by fourth grade. Their program is a fivetotenweek intervention combining personalized instruction for students, workshops that train parents to teach reading at home, and educator professional development. Partnering with Title I schools and large districts in forty cities across the country, Springboard has grown to serve more than 34,000 students across approximately 300 schools annually. Springboard aims to grow and improve its early literacy program model by engaging in new partnerships and acquisitions as a pathway to scale and increasing the rigor and durability of families’ at-home instructional habits through improved workshop curricula and use of instructional technology. The organization will remain committed to maintaining strong student reading outcomes and completing its strategic plan to lay the foundation for future growth—ultimately aiming toreach 200,000 students annually.

Description

Since its founding in 2011, Springboard Collaborative has coached educators and families to help students achieve grade-level reading by fourth grade. Their program is a five-to-ten-week intervention based on Science of Reading-aligned literacy instruction, professional development for teachers, and engaging family workshops designed to empower students to reach their reading goals. With support from the Corporation,Springboard Collaborative aims to expand its reach by 20 percent and serve 36,000 students. This significant goal will be accomplished by fostering partnerships with large districts. The organization will remain committed to maintaining strong student reading outcomes and implementing its strategic plan to lay the foundation for future growth.

Description

To prevent the pandemic from deepening inequality for an entire generation of students, we must upskill parents to cultivate and sustain learning habits at home to support their children’s learning. Founded in 2011, Springboard Collaborative has helped close the literacy gap for nearly 60,000 students across twenty-two cities by facilitating collaborations between parents and teachers and equipping parents with the necessary resources to help them supplement their child’s daily educational experience. With support from the Corporation, Springboard Collaborative will continue to support families by 1) growing their reach in more regions than ever before, 2) developing and launching a strategic plan to guide the next four years of growth and innovation, and 3) Carrying out ongoing innovation and improvements to programs and technology.

Description

Now that schooling is either completely remote or a hybrid model due to the pandemic, students are spending more time outside the traditional classroom. Due to this new environment, parents have also taken on a greater role in their children’s education and to prevent COVID-19 from deepening inequality for an entire generation of students, we must upskill parents to cultivate and sustain learning habits at home to support their children’s learning. Founded in 2011, Springboard Collaborative has helped close the literacy gap for nearly 30,000 students across twenty-two cities by facilitating collaborations between parents and teachers and equipping parents with the necessary resources to help them supplement their child’s daily educational experience. With support from the Corporation, Springboard Collaborative will continue to support over 30,000families by further developing their Springboard Connect home literacy app and their parent-facing literacy screener which helps facilitate communication and data-sharing between families and teachers.

Description

Children spend most of their waking hours outside of the classroom and for underserved families this valuable time is not often spent augmenting the child’s literacy skills. When considering strategies to develop strong readers, parents, especially those from marginalized communities, are an underutilized resource. Parents do not lack the desire to help but do lack the necessary tools and support to cultivate and sustain literacy habits at home. Founded in 2012, Springboard Collaborative has helped close the literacy gap for nearly 10,000 students across thirteen cities by facilitating collaborations between parents and teachers and equipping parents with the necessary resources to help them supplement their child’s daily educational experience. With support from the Corporation, Springboard will develop a mobile app to provide families accurate, real-time insight into their child’s reading progress and pair these insights with actionable strategies to further mobilize family engagement in our education system.

Description

The COVID-19 pandemic is widening the achievement gap for an entire generation of children and asequity issues are prevailing in these circumstances, it is necessary to move swiftly to equip low-income families with resources to support learning at home. Founded in 2012, Springboard Collaborative has unique expertise in the home to school connection: they coach teachers and low-income parents to help students read on grade-level and reduce learning loss, especially during the summer. Springboard Collaborative has helped close the literacy gap for nearly 10,000 students across thirteen cities and due to school closures are projected to reach an additional 20,000 by the summer. With additional support from the Corporation, Springboard plans to rapidly grow their reach by accelerating the development of Springboard Connect, their home literacy app, and engage in large-scale distribution partnerships across the country.
