Description
The COVID-19 crisis has revealed that immigrants are not only overrepresented among the nation’s frontline and “essential” workers, but also less likely than non-immigrants to have health insurance or an economic safety net to fall back on. Unsurprisingly, immigrants and other marginalized populations are shouldering a disproportionate share of the economic, social, and health-related consequences of the pandemic. Yet, during this period of heightened vulnerability, the federal government has further cracked down on immigrants and immigration policy, despite a groundswell of support for immigrants as part of the American response to COVID-19. Founded in 2010, the Partnership for a New American Economy (NAE) Research Fund has been making the socio-economic case for immigrant integration through rigorous research and convening local and state stakeholders around the issue. With Corporation support, the NAE Research Fund will produce original research on immigrants’ contributions to communities and key industries and support governmental and business leaders in conveying that immigrants are integral to the country’s social fabric.

Description
Immigrants play a vital role in filling critical labor gaps, providing high-quality talent and field expertise, as well as contributing financially to communities that are in need of investment. However, congressional inaction on immigration reform has made it difficult for municipalities to robustly integrate and serve immigrants. The Partnership for a New American Economy Research Fund supports the nonpartisan educational efforts of a bipartisan coalition of more than 500 CEOs and mayors from all fifty states. With renewed Corporation support, the research fund will continue to expand its widely used research on immigrant integration and amplify its message to educate policymakers, advocates, its membership, the media, and the public on the need for commonsense immigration reform, as well as the benefits that immigrants bring to local economies.

Description
The Partnership for a New American Economy Research Fund (PNAE) supports the educational efforts of the Partnership for a New American Economy, a bipartisan coalition of more than 500 CEOs and mayors from all fifty states. It was founded in 2010 by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the media magnate, Rupert Murdoch, to make the economic case for the value of immigration to the United States. By pushing the immigration debate to the center, both political parties will have a strong economic rationale to break through the political impasse and fix the broken immigration system. With renewed Corporation support, PNAE will scale its current state and local immigrant integration initiatives, produce original research demonstrating the economic benefits of immigration to critical U.S. sectors and industries, and amplify its message to educate lawmakers, the media, advocates, its membership, and the public on the contributions of immigrants across the country and the critical need for reform.
