Description
AllSides Education Fund was founded in 2015 as a joint nonprofit initiative of AllSides (news literacy and media bias) and Living Room Conversations (bridging divides through dialogue). Born from the urgent need to address two confronting challenges, declining media literacy skills and the erosion of meaningful dialogue across ideological divides—the organization equips educators and community leaders with tools to foster critical thinking and constructive conversation. Today, schools nationwide are leveraging AllSides School Memberships and Living Room Conversations topic guides to empower students. With this proposed grant, Carnegie will support the next phase of their media and news literacy app, AllSides, which includes deepening strategic partnerships with civics education providers, consolidating curriculum resources on the app, updating the School Community Toolbox with pilot lessons on media and AI bias education and introducing the Mismatch platform—which enhances media literacy and dialogue integration across classrooms. Together, these efforts will expand AllSides’ reach, strengthen programs, and bring positive change in classrooms and communities.
