Description
Research indicates that young people who participate in service and civic experiences during high school are more likely to vote and volunteer as adults than peers who did not participate. Key Club International, founded in 1925 and operating as a program of Kiwanis, is one of the world’s largest student-led service programs for high school students, with approximately 233,000 members across 5,568 clubs in all 50 states. The Kiwanis Children’s Fund administers philanthropic investments supporting Key Club expansion, leadership development, and student scholarships. With this grant, the Kiwanis Children’s Fund will expand access to Key Club in California, Nevada, Hawaii, Florida, and New York, targeting 400 new clubs and approximately 22,000 new student members over two years and will double the Global Leadership Certificate Master Class from 50 to 100 students annually, providing stipends of $1,000 per student to attend the Master Class and Key Club International Convention.
