Project Title

For core support of the Campaign for Grade Level Reading

Date

Mar. 04, 2021

Duration

12 months

Description

Research has shown that children learn anywhere, anytime, and not just in school. For this reason, there is a need to discover the best methods for enabling families, educators, and community practitioners to join forces in support of student learning. The Campaign for Grade Level Reading (CGLR) is a collaborative effort by foundations, nonprofit partners, business leaders, government agencies, states and communities across the country to ensure that more children in low-income families succeed in school and graduate prepared for college, a career, and active citizenship. The Campaign focuses on an important predictor of school success—grade-level reading by the end of third grade. With continued support from the Corporation, CGLR will raise awareness among their core constituencies about the importance of 1) slowing, stopping and reversing learning loss brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and 2) parents as essential partners in all aspects of their children’s learning and development.
