As China’s economy and global influence continue to grow, public pronouncements and political actions have increased United States-China economic and geostrategic competition. In response to this complex and fraught dynamic, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas is convening a conference with relevant policymakers, academics, and policy researchers on the long-term future of Sino-American relations. A series of conference papers on such issues as diplomacy, trade, intellectual property, energy, human rights, and regional influence will be published in special hardcopy and online editions of the journal
