Date

Duration

15 months

Description

The recent Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations, redesignations, and extensions for eligible individuals from Venezuela, Cameroon, Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador have opened opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people to apply for work authorization. However, many of these individuals are unable to fully take advantage of their eligibility for TPS. The lack of reliable information and trusted voices in the immigration law space creates obstacles that prevent those eligible from securing their status against potential future changes or program eligibility. Founded in 1986, CASA provides critical services to immigrant and working-class families, and advocates for their rights. It has over 155,000 lifetime members across forty-six states, making it the leading immigrant organization in the mid-Atlantic region. CASA will support 1,700 individuals from at least 200 families staying together in the U.S., engage at least 5,000 eligible TPS applicants through peer-to-peer outreach, and hold twelve work authorization clinics. With Corporation support, CASA will provide reliable information and assist those navigating the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) system to apply for TPS.
