Albertine Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to supportingFrench-Americanrelations through innovative cultural and educational projects in partnership with Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education of the French Embassy in the US. InSeptember2025,VillaAlbertinelaunchedthe Lafayette Fellowship with Carnegie support, a new initiative aimed at fosteringFrench-Americanacademic cooperation and cultivating future leaders to strengthen the bilateral relationship.The program supports 30 outstanding American post-graduate students annually in a fully funded year of master’s level study atone of France’s 15 top universities andgrandesécoles. A second program, Albertine Ideas, brings French and Americanthought-leaderstogether; the Night of Ideas nocturnal festivalinvites national audiences to join intellectual and culturalexpertsin exploring anannual,socially-relevanttheme.This year’s 10theditionis represented in20 cities across the USA.

Villa Albertine (Albertine Foundation),the French Institute for Culture and Education, is launching the Lafayette Fellowship, a new initiative aimed at fostering French-American academic cooperation and cultivating future leaders to strengthen the bilateral relationship.The Lafayette Fellowship is designed to support an annual cohort of up to 30 outstanding US scholars, enabling them to pursue higher education for a year in France and contribute to a rich exchange of knowledge between the two countries. Thisprogram aligns with CarnegieCorporation’s belief in ahealthy democracy,encouragingpeace and security among nations, andwill be launched as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of American independence and French-American friendship.

Since 2017, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States has offered an array of educational programs that make philosophical and artistic discourse accessible to general audiences. Among these programs is the Night of Ideas, an annual event that offers the public an opportunity to engage with social and political issues outside of an academic setting, through artistic performances, film screenings, art installations, and intellectual debates. In partnership with the FACE Foundation, the French Embassy has launched Villa Albertine, a national network of at least sixteen institutions. With Corporation support, Villa Albertine will nowcoordinate the annual Night of Ideas and help general audiences connect with public intellectuals, scientists,activists, and artists around the philosophic questions at the forefront of American and international life. Sample topics can include the future of democracy, resilience in the face of a global pandemic, and more.

Every year, the Night of Ideas has brought together artists and public intellectuals for an evening of lectures, performances, and virtual reality installations, in order to explore with the general public the most pressing issues of contemporary societies. With the COVID-19 pandemic having forced people to socially distance and quarantine, societies around the world have recognized a shared sense of isolation and desire for human connection. In coordination with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, the FACE Foundation will host a digital Night of Ideas aimed at reaching thousands of curious minds around the globe. The FACE Foundation will collaborate with major museums, leading artists, and philosophers to broadcast a 24-hour production filled with lectures, conversations, and performances exploring human connection in the contemporary world. With Corporation support, the FACE Foundation will launch the 2021 Night of Ideas and connect international audiences in a meaningful, accessible exchange of ideas.
