John D. Garrigus

John D. Garrigus is a professor of history at the University of Texas at Arlington, whose work focuses on race and the history of the Caribbean, particularly Haiti. His 2006 book Before Haiti: Race and Citizenship in Saint- Domingue won the Gilbert Chinard Prize from the Society for French Historical Studies.
