Description
The Africa Center’s Peace and Memory Lab is a timely response to the deliberate targeting of culture in Sudan’s war. This initiative treats culture and memory as strategic resources for peace by documenting attacks on heritage, connecting Sudanese leaders to international protection mechanisms, and embedding cultural protection in conflict prevention and reconciliation efforts. By combining documentation, diplomatic engagement, and public storytelling, the project hopes to make heritage protection a recognized part of peacebuilding infrastructure and create a model for use in other conflict zones. TAC’s convening power, partnerships, and Sudanese connections give it a strong platform to engage multilateral mechanisms and contribute to policy conversations.
