This report provides an overview of the Future Africa Early Career Research Leader Fellowship, showcasing the stories of twelve promising early career researchers. The scholars, stemming from ten tertiary institutions in six countries across East, West and Southern Africa and Mauritius, have filled a gap in the African research capacity development ecosystem for the past three years. The report profiles the fellow's roles in helping to develop Africa’s research capacity across fields, ranging from the study of applied epidemiology, to raising awareness of zoonotic diseases, investigating the drivers of cassava value chain commercialization, and more.
