With business partners Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim, Steven Chen launched the video streaming website YouTube in 2005 and went on to serve as its Chief Technology Officer. Born in 1978 in Taipei, Taiwan, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, then worked for PayPal and Facebook before starting YouTube. Purchased by Google in 2006, YouTube is the largest video-sharing community on the Web. Chen launched AVOS Systems, a digital media services company in 2011 and currently is an entrepreneur in residence at Google Ventures. Updated 2014
