Arriving in the United States at the age of four with his parents, speed skater Simon Cho overcame financial hardship early in life and went on to make the 2010 U.S. Olympic team, winning a bronze medal in the 5000-meter relay in the Vancouver Olympics. That same year he won a silver medal in the relay at the World Championships. A year later, he won the gold medal in 500-meter short-track race at the World Championships, as well as a bronze medal in the relay. Updated 2011
