Sidney Taurel served as chairman and CEO of Eli Lilly and Company, the pharmaceutical concern best known for the antidepressants Prozac and Sarafem. Born in Casablanca, Moroco in 1949, Taurel held various sales and marketing positions at Eli Lilly before assuming the chief executive role. He hired new talent from around the globe and emphasized innovation and new products. He has also served as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council as well as the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. Updated 2008
