Born in Hyderabad, India in 1967, Satya Nadella was appointed as the third Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corporation in 2014. One of his initial projects in that role has been to strengthen the company's smartphone strategy to better compete with Apple and Google. He joined the company in 1992, soon rising to serve in various executive positions.
