Satish K. Tripathi is the first international-born president of the University at Buffalo, part of the State University of New York. Immigrating to the U.S. in 1978, Tripathi served as a faculty member of the University of Maryland for 19 years, then as Dean at the University of California, Riverside. A fellow of the IEEE and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, he has published more than 200 scholarly papers. Under his leadership, the University at Buffalo has seen a period of extensive growth. Updated 2012
