Working in a garage with two friends who were also immigrants to the United States, Safi Qureshey started a small electronic design consulting firm called AST Research. The company went on to become one of the top 10 computer manufacturers, pioneering the production of computers with upgradeable, modular parts to fight obsolescence. Qureshey served as CEO until the company was bought by Samsung. He was a Regent’s Professor at the Graduate School of Management at the University of California Irvine and is a member of UCI's CEO roundtable. Updated 2013
