Renu Khator is the eighth chancellor of the University of Houston System--the first woman in its history to serve in this position and the thirteenth president of the University of Houston. During her tenure, the UH System has undergone substantial expansion, and UH itself has broken records in research funding, enrollment, and private support. In 2011, the Carnegie Foundation designated UH as a Tier One research university. Khator received the President's Award from NASPA, the National Association of Student Affairs Administrators in 2014.
