Born in Asmara, Eritrea in 1975, Meb Keflezighi is one of the top marathoners in the U.S. He won the silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens becoming the first American medalist in the marathon since 1976. In 2009, he became the first American since 1982 to win the New York City Marathon, which is the largest marathon in the world. He is the author of the memoir Run To Overcome and launched the MEB Foundation, which promotes health, education, and fitness. Updated 2010
