Born in 1949 in Hamburg, Germany, Manuela Hoelterhoff is an award-winning journalist and critic. Currently the executive editor of Muse, Bloomberg's arts and culture section, Hoelterhoff previously served as arts editor of The Wall Street Journal, writing about literature, art, music, architecture, and theater. She also co-founded SmartMoney magazine. Hoelterhoff was awarded the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism and was named a Guggenheim Fellow for music research in 2000. Updated 2014
