Writer and poet Joseph Tusiani first made his reputation in the mid 1950s, when he was awarded the Greenwood Prize by the Poetry Society of England for his long poem, The Return. He has since continued to write poetry in both English and Italian, and was invited by President Kennedy to record his poem on tape for the Archives of the Library of Congress. He has also written two novels, poetry in Latin, and an autobiographical trilogy. He served as director of the Catholic Poetry Society of America, as well as vice president of the Poetry Society of America. Updated 2009
