John Cho became interested in acting while earning his English degree at the University of California, Berkeley. He landed his first professional role in a stage adaptation of Maxine Hong Kingston’s novel The Woman Warrior. His breakout film role was as the star of the 2004 comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Since then, he has found success in both television and film, playing the iconic role of Sulu in J.J. Abrams’s film version of Star Trek and appearing in various television series, such as How I Met Your Mother, FlashForward, and Kitchen Confidential. Cho is also lead singer of the rock band Viva La Union. Updated 2013
