Jennifer Granholm served as governor of Michigan from 2003 to 2011. Amid the economic downturn, she strengthened the state's auto industry and diversified its economy. On her reelection in 2006, she won with the largest number of votes ever cast for a Michigan governor. She is currently distinguished practitioner of law and public policy at UC Berkeley's School of Law and Goldman School of Public Policy. She also wrote the political bestseller A Governors Story: The Fight for Jobs and Americas Economic Future. Updated 2014
