Ilesanmi Adesida, an electrical engineer with a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, has research interests that include nanofabrication processes and ultra-high-speed optoelectronics. Currently he serves as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has lectured, mentored students, supervised undergraduate research projects, and chaired and organized many international conferences. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the IEEE EDS Distinguished Service Award in 2011 and the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the department of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley.
