David A. Pietz is an associate professor of modern Chinese history and director of the Global Studies Program at the University of Arizona. He is also the university’s UNESCO Chair in Environmental History, which supports work that examines current environmental problems from a historical perspective. Dr. Peitz’s research uses the lens of recent Chinese history to explore water management in the country and the challenges that China faces in this area.
