Baseball player David Ortiz is considered one of the top clutch hitters in major league history. After establishing himself in the Minnesota Twins, he was signed by the Boston Red Sox in 2003, becoming full-time designated hitter. Within two years he was an All-Star and, in 2005, he led the Red Sox to win their first World Series title since 1918, breaking the Curse of the Bambino. Though his career later slumped for a few years, he fought back and led the Red Sox to a World Series title in the 2013 season. Updated 2013
