Medical researcher David Ho has been a pioneer in AIDS and HIV research for more than three decades. Discovering that the virus multiplies in early stages rather than lying dormant, he devised antiviral cocktails to fight disease early on. Currently as scientific director and CEO of Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, Ho is working on finding a vaccine. He was named TIME magazines Man of the Year, in 1996, and is a scientific honoree of the New York Academy of Medicine. Updated 2012
