Ciro Rodriguez served as the representative of the 23rd Congressional District of Texas, the largest district in the state from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, he represented the 28th Congressional District, from 1997 to 2005. He has also served in the Texas House of Representatives, where he emphasized education, fighting for improved high school graduation rates, and drafting a law that guaranteed acceptance to any public four-year Texas university for the top 10 percent of Texas high school graduates.
