Born in 1947 in Autlan de Navarro, Mexico, Carlos Santana and his band arrived on the San Francisco music scene in the 1960s with Afro-Cuban beats and Latin-flavored rock. After a legendary performance at Woodstock, Santana became one of the biggest music acts of the era with the release of his album Abraxas. He made a resurgence in 1999, teaming up with current stars and releasing the smash-hit album Supernatural. He has won 10 Grammies and, in 2009, received Billboard Latin Music Awards' Lifetime Achievement honor. Updated 2010
