Renowned actor Andy Garcia arrived in the U.S. as a child when his family fled Cuba for their safety during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Beginning his film career playing small, stereotypical roles as criminal types, his breakout performance came in the 1990 film Godfather, Part III. He has since led a diverse career, directing the documentary Cachao (Como Su Ritmo No Hay Dos), working to bring Latino actors and films into Hollywood, and acting in smaller, more offbeat films such as The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca, as well as major blockbusters, such as Ocean’s Eleven.
