Andres Cantor

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Andres Cantor is a sportscaster for Telemundo Sports, most famous for introducing to U.S. audiences to his sustained, exuberant call of "GOOOAL!" during soccer matches. He first introduced it during the 1990 FIFA World Cup, but its popularity here exploded during the 1994 World Cup, which was held in the U.S. He has been featured on talk shows and received an Emmy Award in 2005. In 1994 the American Sportscaster Association named him "Sports Personality of the Year." Updated 2014
