Actor Aasif Mandvi, born in 1966 in Bombay, India, is best known for his role as a correspondent on The Daily Show, often satirizing issues related to Islam, the Middle East, and South Asia. He also appears in a recurring role in the series Us and Them. As a stage actor, Mandvi won an OBIE award for his one-man show, Sakina's Restaurant, and appeared in the critically acclaimed Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom.
