Trish Callahan brings more than 25 years of human resources leadership to the role of chief human resources officer at Carnegie Corporation of New York. Her experience spans a diverse range of organizations, including nonprofit educational media, family-owned manufacturing, and publicly traded companies. Callahan’s varied background has been an asset in implementing tools, programs, and data that help organizations function better and achieve greater success. Her signature initiatives have focused on career coaching and workplace culture aimed at optimizing employee engagement.
For 15 years, Callahan worked for McDonald’s Corporation, providing human resources support for more than 100 franchise restaurants in the greater New York City area. She transitioned to the nonprofit sector when she joined Sesame Workshop, the production company that produces Sesame Street, where Callahan rose to the position of vice president of human resources, overseeing services for more than 300 employees. Most recently, she was the human resources director for The Education Trust, a national nonprofit that works to close opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income families.
Callahan holds a BBA from The Ohio State University with a concentration in human resources and labor relations and is also a certified facilitator of workplace personality assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Callahan lives with her husband and teenage daughter, Jacqueline, and enjoys amateur photography in her spare time.
