Samantha Vargas is a program analyst for the Leadership and Teaching to Advance Learning portfolio within the Corporation's Education program. Previously, Vargas was the U.S. social impact assistant at Sesame Workshop, where she conducted research, developed presentations, managed events, and provided administrative support to the department. Prior to working at Sesame Workshop, she was a lead preschool teacher in Tampa, Florida, working with two- and three-year-old children. Vargas was also an AmeriCorps team leader with Jumpstart during her undergraduate years and facilitated language, literacy, and social and emotional learning sessions with preschool children. Outside of working at the Corporation, she volunteers with homeless youth in transitional housing shelters in Harlem and Brooklyn.
Vargas is currently pursuing a Master of Science in education with a focus on social and emotional learning at the Erikson Institute. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in education and social policy with a concentration in human development and psychological services.
