Robert Rosenthal leads the information technology and office services functions at Carnegie Corporation of New York.
Rosenthal came to the Corporation from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, where he served as chief information officer. Prior to that, he worked at Newsday Media Group for 16 years, culminating in his tenure as chief technology officer. During his time at Newsday, he was introduced to philanthropy as a volunteer member of Newsday Charities. The experience resonated with him, leading to his interest in transitioning to the nonprofit sector. His earlier work experience includes 10 years at J.P. Morgan in various financial systems roles. Rosenthal started his career at PwC as a staff accountant.
He earned his MBA in management information systems and BBA in accounting with a minor in economics from Hofstra University. Rosenthal is a certified public accountant.
Rosenthal is currently the treasurer for the Technology Association of Grantmakers, an organization of philanthropy and technology professionals. He has served for 14 years as a member of the Endowment Fund Committee for Hope House Ministries, which is dedicated to providing compassionate care “to the poor, the wounded, and the marginal among us."
