Jaiya Lalla is a program assistant in the International Peace and Security program, reporting to Patricia Moore Nicholas and James McKeon. She previously worked on nuclear security issues in South Asia at the Stimson Center. She also managed the Global Classrooms DC program, for which she was awarded the inaugural Emerging Leaders Award by the DC Office of Human Rights. Lalla has additional experience in government and local organizations, including work with the United States Senate, the Peace Corps, the U.S. Department of State, and the National Endowment for Democracy.
Lalla graduated with a BA in international affairs from George Washington University, focusing on security policy and Asia, and she holds a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. While at GWU, she spent a semester abroad with the China Studies Institute at Peking University in Beijing, China. Lalla speaks Mandarin and Hindi.
