Hiba Said

Hiba Said is the program assistant for the Higher Education and Research in Africa program. Prior to joining the Corporation, she was on staff at the Social Science Research Council supporting the work of the African Peacebuilding Network and Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa programs. Previously, she was a curriculum developer, designing critical academic coursework in African history.

Said holds a BA from Georgetown University, where she focused on African studies and justice and peace studies. During her time at Georgetown, she contributed to several Africa-focused research projects, worked on an initiative on Islamophobia, and helped provide consulting services to law firms seeking to improve their legal pro bono work. The founding president of the Eritrean Ethiopian Students Association at Georgetown, Said also served on the executive board of the African Society of Georgetown.
