Cecelia Chen is a director of investments at Carnegie Corporation of New York. She is responsible for investments across the private markets portfolio, in particular buyouts/growth and real assets. She is also the contact person for China and crypto.
Prior to joining the Corporation, Chen was a senior investment officer at Seattle City Employees Retirement System, where she was the primary coverage for the real estate, infrastructure, and private equity portfolios. Before switching into investing as a fiduciary, Chen traded commodities at a quantitative firm and at one of the world’s largest physical commodity houses. She has worked in seven countries across four continents.
Chen received her BA in economics from Yale University. She is also a CAIA Charterholder.
