Cecelia Chen is director, Investments, at Carnegie Corporation of New York. She is responsible for investments across the private markets portfolio, with a focus on private equity, growth equity, real estate, natural resources, energy transition, crypto, and investments in China.
Prior to joining the foundation, Chen was a senior investment officer at Seattle City Employees Retirement System, where she was the primary coverage for the real estate, infrastructure, and private equity portfolios. Before switching into investing as a fiduciary, Chen traded commodities at a quantitative firm and at one of the world’s largest physical commodity houses. She has worked in seven countries across four continents.
Chen received her BA in economics from Yale University. She is also a CAIA charterholder.
