Science Network Rises to Africa’s Needs

Working with the Institute for Advanced Study, the Corporation helped to create the Regional Initiative for Science and Education (RISE), regional networks of universities in Africa with the goal of enabling talented men and women to advance in the science and technology fields.  Projects such as seaweed farming in Zanzibar have been initiated by a scientist trained with RISE support.  To date, more than 90 scientists have benefitted from the initiative.
