Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina—otherwise known as the Library of Alexandria in Egypt—is using a $1 million grant from the Corporation to  undertake the print and electronic publication of one hundred books and selections from the history of modernist or reformist thought (up until the mid 20th century) that emerged from Muslim societies. The goal of the project is to broaden the public’s understanding of the diverse histories of Muslim societies and thought for both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
