Grantee FAQs

The following are answers to Frequently Asked Questions regarding the management and reporting of current grants.

What are the reporting requirements for grants?
Detailed information about reporting requirements is included with all grant agreements sent by the foundation.  The reporting requirements are also outlined in the Grant Reporting Requirements.  If you still have questions about reporting requirements after reviewing the guidelines, please email grantsinfo(at)carnegie.org

Where do I send reporting requirements?
As noted in the Grant Reporting Requirements, reporting requirements should be emailed to grantsinfo(at)carnegie.org. Include your organization name, grant number (as indicated on your grant agreement), and reporting title in the subject line.

Can my organization apply through a fiscal sponsor?
Organizations can apply through a fiscal sponsor when necessary. The sponsor must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has a formal relationship with the organization working on the project.  Please note that the fiscal sponsor is considered the grantee and is responsible for the proper expenditure of the funds and all reporting requirements.

What is your indirect cost rate?
The foundation’s policy for indirect costs allows for an allocation of up to 15% of direct project costs. This allocation should be reflected as a separate line item as indicated in the Budget Template.
